Abstract：［Purpose/significance］ Exploring the stimulating effect of interdisciplinary citation on knowledge growth,identifying the research topic that interdisciplinary citation effectively promoting knowledge growth is of great significance to grasp the law and direction of interdisciplinary research［Method/process］ From the three aspects of citation rate,citation diversity,and citation concentration,an interdisciplinary citation model is constructedA topic research heat model is constructed to reflect the growth of knowledgeThen the correlation analysis method is used to measure the effect and extent of interdisciplinary citation to stimulate knowledge growthTaking the frontier and stable research topics of Library and information science from 2001 to 2020 as an example for empirical analysis［Result/conclusion］ We found that interdisciplinary citation has a positive effect on the growth of knowledgeAccording to the degree of relevance of interdisciplinary citation and topic research,we divide the research topics into three categories:effective,capable,and difficult to promote knowledge growthFinally,propose and verify a method for estimating the degree of stimulation［Limitations］ Only taking library and information science as an example to test the model,whether it is applicable to other disciplines needs to be further verified
